My Chiropractic Story..."At the age of 5 years old I remember waking up in the middle of the night screaming with the most excruciating pain in my hip. My parents responded with fear for what I was going trough, put me in the car and took me to the emergency room. When we arrived at the E.R. the admitting nurse realized immediately that something was seriously wrong and I was taken back to be seen by a doctor. Hours and hours passed while countless tests and x-rays were taken. Scared and now confined to a hospital bed I remember the look on my parents faces and how worried and concerned they were for my wellbeing. After the results came back, the doctors couldn't really put a diagnosis together as to why my body was reacting the way it was. All the doctors could offer is a hip replacement procedure. This seemed a stretch to my parents who couldn't believe that their 5 year old daughter would need a hip replacement. The surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks out. We left the hospital after the pain had subsided and I was now confined to a wheelchair. A few days later while at a family gathering one of my Mother's cousins asked if I had been to a chiropractor? My parents did not know of chiropractic and trusted in the referral of our family member. Later that week, after being confined to a wheelchair and living with the pain in my hip I was seen by my Chiropractor. Having entered into his office in a wheelchair, you can imagine what my parents and I felt while I walked out of the office without the use of the wheelchair. I remember my chiropractor being polite and professional. Not only did he seek out the cause of the pain, but he was able to apply a specific and gentle adjustment to my hip, which allowed the body to perform at it's normal capacity. Still to this day, I relive this memory in my head and give thanks to my mom's cousin who referred us to a chiropractor, who examined, diagnosed and treated my ailment thus inspiring me to serve in this model."
